Fashion Focus: Elizabeth & James

3 Dec

In June I was interviewed by Style site Shop Influence about my personal style and favorite fashions. When asked which brand I would currently choose to have all access to I blurted Elizabeth and James before she even finished her question. The youthful, chic brand by wonder-twins Mary Kate & Ashley Olsen is my must-have brand.

My online shopping addiction almost always leads back to the Elizabeth and James page on Shopbop. Below are my current faves offered on the shopping site, lucky for all of us, many of these items are currently on sale!

Poe Blazer with Fur Collar

Doris Belted Dress

Winter Velvet Harem Pant

Sleeveless Leather Dress

Hudson Aviator

Vertical Diamond Bar Ring and James Tiger Ring

Scuff Suede Platform Wedge

I think the reason why myself and so many other girls are drawn to the brand is their ability to create fashion forward but yet still approachable clothing. The gray velvet harem pant can seem daunting, but due to the divine material and casual color one can rock the look in everyday life, not just as a celeb. There are so many E&J pieces I’d absolutely love to add to my wardrobe (well, all of them!) but I thought I’d pick a few to show you that are currently offered on Shopbop!

What do you think? If you could choose one brand to fill your wardrobe who would it be?!

The Perfect Party Polish

2 Dec

I am a mani/pedi girl. I do not think I’ve seen my bare nail for years. Luckily for me, my candy colored stash of polishes keep me busy every two weeks. Now that the holidays are coming up, I love to add a festive touch to my tips and toes and no one does that better than Deborah Lippman!

Her glitter-featured collections are prime for the tinsel-loving season and will be the perfect addition to that Little Sparkly Dress.

Clockwise: Today Was a Fairytale, Boom Boom Pow, Bad Romance & Across the Universe.

I love that the Deborah Lippmann polishes can capture so many different moods despite being all chunky glitter. I love Bad Romance for a romantic, deep look, while Today Was a Fairytale is so girly and fun. I used to steer clear of glitter polishes due to the hassle of removing it, but a new secret of soaking the nail in remover before using a cotton pad to take it off wipes the color off clean in 1/3 of the time.

The iconic polish: Happy Birthday

Her polishes range from $16-20 and come in everything from redish orange Supermodel, a polish created with Dree Hemingway, to the cement-ish color of Waking Up in Vegas that Gaga wore on the cover of September’s Vanity Fair. If you’re more into the classics, go for Believe- a goldish, beige created with Cher, or Hit Me With Your Best Shot, a shocking gun metal collaborated with Pat Benatar. Or cult faves created for Rodarte- Marquee Moon, or Purple Rain, the lilac featured at Zac Posen.  All can been seen on her site here!

This Holiday season, there’s nothing more perfect than treating yourself to a manicure that will sparkle all season long.

Winter Wonderland: Kate Spade

1 Dec

A personal favorite, Kate Spade, has released their newest holiday campaign and it does not disappoint! Vivid colors, glittering accessories, and what looks like a really good time!

Metallic wristlets, bold accents, and kitschy add ons make this a stand out look.

A structured red clutch, bright hued tights, and sparkling jewels make any girl shine.

A carry all tote, and some eye-catching pumps are every girl’s must-have!

ALL about the bangles! Layer all shapes, sizes and colors for a unique, eye catching look.

Their Holiday Ad Campaign is pure adorable, kitschy fun! I love Kate Spade because they’re such a consistently-cute brand that produces new must-have items each season. Fun fact: my first real handbag was a Kate Spade black nylon Sam bag that I bought with my own babysitting money in 8th grade on a trip to NY!

Head over to KateSpade.com and see all the bright, bold accessories they have for the winter and their handy Gift Guide. Sign up for their newsletter & receive 15% off your first order, AND they currently have free shipping! Win-win!

Recreate the Look of the Day: Olivia Palermo

30 Nov

Olivia Palermo at the Mango fashion show in Spain is the epitome of chic and class. The feminine but structured look is taken to perfection with Olivia and I’m here to help you re-create it!

Olivia looks sky high with tailored wide leg trousers, the highest of heels, and the little girly detailing of a pussybow. Luckily for us the look can be redone with a variety of price points. While Olivia is rocking the brand’s look, the overall aesthetic is easily accomplished with easy to find pieces styled together for an A+ outfit.

Top, Diane von Furstenburg ($172, Similar style at ASOS for $48). Wide Leg Pants, McQ ($265, now on sale for $80). Heels, TopShop ($250). Clutch, J.Crew ($139, now on sale for $98). Belt, ASOS ($48). Bangles, Via Nativa ($36, with a percentage donated to charity).

I love Olivia’s look because it’s so simple to put together. Whether you shop high or lower end most stores will have a white button down and tan trousers. Utilize the accessories you own to create a cohesive look with your heels, belt, and clutch in one color scheme. For me, it’s most important to rock a fierce heel when wearing wide leg trousers in order to get that illusive height and to show off the pant proudly.

What do you think? Would you recreate Olivia’s look?

Design your Own Denim

29 Nov

A few weeks ago I attend the opening of the Levi’s store in the Meatpacking District. The store was cute, a few pieces here and there that caught my eye, but there was one thing that peaked my curiosity enough to share with you all.

Their customizable denim bar!

Aside from San Francisco, this is the only denim bar in-store at a Levi’s. Anyone can come to this Levi’s with jeans of any brand and have them altered, tapered, re-dyed, designed, pretty much anything you could think of for your denim! As you can see in the board below, not only are alterations made but you can design your own custom jeans as well. These jeans would be pretty pricey but once you have the pattern made, Levi’s will keep it on record forever, so you can have another pair made at any time. Jeans, tops, jackets, wallets, belts, even leather jackets can be made at this store all from your own designs and specific measurements.

Luckily for me, I can find jeans relatively easily but this option is pretty great for those with extra cash and denim determination.

Some other pieces in the store… I loved the off the shoulder fair isle, the flannel button down and the black floppy hat.

I love the denim on wool cape look. This is such a chic look that I think the Man Repeller would be proud of!

This is an adorable store with classic finds for winter. But the real reason to stop in would definitely be for the customizable tailor! Great concept in an easily accessible form!

What do you think? Would you design your own denim?

Botkier Bliss

24 Nov

It’s no secret I’m a huge fan of the Botkier purses as posts have showed HERE and tweets are constant! So when I was invited to attend their Spring Press Preview I knew there was NO way I’d miss it. And I must share, the reality was even better than my expectations!

The most daring of the bunch: pink croc with darling hardware, tassels, and studs mixed with a little taupe sheen. The Ava Crossbody (far left) in this material is my favorite of the entire new collection!

Love the key-hole detailing of these classic, structured bags.

Who can say no to animal prints?! This absolutely adorable & fierce bag is killing it with it’s slouchy shape and small studded detailing. OBSESSED.

Botkier has the cutest wallets, makeup cases, and clutches which is the perfect gift for any BFF. The neon yellow is that perfect pop of color for any neutral outfit, or for easy reach inside an Olsen-style larger than life bucket bag!

For the shoe-lovers, there’s even something for you! Wedges, strappy sandals, and fierce pumps will be available to complete any outfit. The white wedges in the front will be perfect for Spring Sunday brunches when paired with this lasered leather tote in the chicest of boho styles.

You know you love a collection when you imagine outfit after potential outfit moments after laying your eyes on it.

Botkier’s newest collection has something for everyone: classic white leather, dynamic animal prints, textures, neons, shimmer and shine, in clutches, totes, crossbodies, and large overnights. You could buy one of every item and never style it the same way. I’ll especially be keeping my eyes out for Botkier’s leopard, neon yellow, and croc-esque styles this Spring! Another new and fresh collection for one of the most gorgeous brands!

PS- In case you were wondering, yes, the Ava Crossbody is still on my Christmas Wishlist :)
