Have a Sparkly, Glittery Halloween!

20 Oct

Despite it being already half way through the month of October, today was the first day my obsession with Halloween kicked into high gear. I proposed costume ideas to anyone that sat next to me, googled recipe after recipe of ghoulish treats to bake, and found the cutest decor for the girl on a budget from Ms. Craft herself: Martha Stewart!

Brooke of Just B Blog, is a fabulous fashionista I met at the IFB Con here in NYC last month. Her entire blog focuses on high quality fashion, beauty, and her recent post of her shiny, sparkly Halloween holiday decorations just couldn’t be overlooked!

As we all know, I’m a girl who loves her glitter: proof of my Hello Kitty bedazzled cell phone… and these mini pumpkins add a girlie aspect to a spooky day. Best of all: CHEAP! Because as much as I love my holidays, I’d much rather put that $100 to a fabulous pair of boots than an electronic toy that “muahaha’s” once a year.

Step 1: Head over to your local craft or dollar store and pick up plastic pumpkins in all shapes and sizes.

Step 2: Decide whether to glitter spray paint, or like Brooke, apply glue and loose glitter.

Step 3: Spread down newspaper and go GLITTER CRAZY!

Step 4: Line up pumpkins on a ledge, table, or as B creatively did, stack them in a clear vase for a chic twist on a classic.

Cheap, easy, and a fun weekend DIY activity! Invite some friends over, serve some Halloween Punch and have a fabulous crafternoon! (Get it? Craft Afternoon… Crafternoon! Blame the sorority…). Don’t forget to head over to Just B Blog and check out all her other adorable posts! And if you aren’t already follow me on Twitter @everyday_runway and look out for some craft twitpics this weekend!
