A few months ago I was lucky enough to get a sneak peek of the new Venomous Villains collection up close and personal. I am so excited to finally share the grainy iPhone photos I’ve been staring at daily since the reveal.
MAC released a teaser trailer that had hints of character sketches to entice us MAC devotees. But it wasn’t until this photo below was released that we had final confirmation.
The Evil Queen, Maleficent, Dr. Facilier and Cruella de Vil will be hitting stores on September 30th to bring you all types of evil makeup pleasure. While packaging is less creative than I was hoping, the inner-five year old in me refuses to turn away from my childhood nemeses. Cruella and the Evil Queen are classic Disney villains so there is no surprise to see their sassy faces in this collection. But I love that they also decided to include the most recent dark cloud to the Disney family: Dr. Facilier. Having just watched the Princess and the Frog, oh 3 nights ago, I am a biiiig fan of the voodoo Shadow Man and love that his line is focused mainly for warm skin tones.
Lipgelees, pigments, greasepaint sticks, and the newest: Magically Cool Liquid Powder fill Dr. Facilier’s collection in warm tones that are perfect for highlighting.
Cruella de Vil and the Evil Queen’s collections are much more wearable than you would expect out of a high intensity villain collection. Pinks, peaches, and reds line this collection through lipglasses, lipsticks, eyeshadows, blushes and beauty powders. My favorites here are definitely Oh so Fair beauty powder from the Evil Queen, a shimmery pink, and Cruella’s Wicked Ways, a cherry red lipglass.
Maleficent rounds out the evil crew with the most original pieces of the collection. Mineralized eyeshadows in deep purples and blues, nail polishes with sparkle and shine, and the deepest lipstick to take you straight into fall.
Overall I think this collection is going to sell out very quickly. Despite the high quantity within the collection you will have MAC and Disney devotees scrambling to get their hands on these limited edition products. I love my Hello Kitty products from the 2009 MAC collection mainly because of the packaging so I definitely think these will go fast. For more in depth information about the colors in each villains line I would head over to Temptalia for swatches and reviews.
What do you think? Will you be snatching up these prized villains come September?!
