Marie Claire’s August Cover Girl.

7 Jul

This wild haired, doe eyed, fair skinned beauty is rocking my world in the August 2010 issue of Marie Claire, and in a surprising change, it’s not Taylor Swift! T. Swift has taken cover after cover as the leading teenage blondie but finally a new girl is getting recognition….

While I could’ve sworn Dakota Fanning was still 12 or 13, turns out this 16 year old model look-a-like is absolutely stunning on her second cover (first being V Magazine) and the entire spread inside. While the looks remind me more of Teen Vogue than the higher median aged MC I can appreciate their styling of this wise-beyond-her-years teenager.

Official must-have: Grecian-esque headband.

Dakota makes the bow, stud, chain, polka dot mix-match combination work for her.

Who said frizz was out? Tease your mane up!

Despite discussing her luxe lifestyle: calls with Tom Cruise, lunches with Sean Penn, a bff of Kristen Stewart; Dakota Fanning has always seemed like an intelligent girl with a good head on her shoulders. She is a brilliant actress for her age and chooses to focus on family and friends rather than the Hollywood social scene which I always appreciate in a celeb. Her style has truly transformed in the last year and she is becoming recognized for her personal fashion.

I am happy to see a new face on the cover of this mainstream mag and look forward to seeing Dakota’s personal style continue to evolve as she grows older. Kudos to a unique and fun August choice!
