The Perfect Summer Shoe.

27 Jun

Now that summer is here I’m shedding my basic blacks in turn for loose white tee’s, bright accents and avoiding dark colors like the plague. See, Manhattan in summer is a humid, crowded, sweaty place where I daily long for a beach vacation. Maybe it’s the California girl in me, but I cannot keep my Kelly-Cutrone black on during these 90 degree days. I recently picked up these wedges which are super comfortable, leg lengthening and definitely affordable!

At $21.50 these are the perfect pair for one full summer and then tossing them. Many of my pieces from Forever 21, like these wedges, are what I consider “disposable clothing.” Cheap in price, but perfect for a few months and then donating (or trashing, depending on final quality) for the new season. In the past two days I’ve already worn them all over town and despite accidently buying a size too big, some gel inserts did the trick of making them my new favorite summer shoe.

Great tip: if you end up with any shoe too big, head over to the drugstore and buy any gel insert or a heel slip grip pad and place it inside of the shoe to ensure less slippage!

A nude color wedge is more casual than a nude pump and can be worn during the day or if you work in a business-casual environment, to the office. Heels can be tiring but thanks to this 1″ front platform, this heel only ends up being 3″ which isn’t too bad for a daily pair. I’m much more of a wedges than heels girl for the daytime, especially because you never know what errands will pop up and you’ll be traipsing all over town in your special 4″ stilettos.
