Pat McGrath & COVERGIRL for LeSportsac.

16 Jun

When the amazing Julie of I Heart Heels contacted me to help cover the  Pat McGrath & COVERGIRL for LeSportsac event I was excited beyond belief. Pat McGrath, the new collection collaborator, was the cherry on top of a wonderful event.

The event hosted at the SoHo LeSportsac store was filled with industry insiders, beauty gurus, and Pat’s personal gaggle of leggy models. In case you aren’t yet enlightened in regards to one of the most highly regarded makeup artists on Earth, or at least by Vogue (but isn’t that the same thing?), let me introduce you to Pat McGrath. This British beauty graces some of the hottest runways, such as Miu Miu, Prada, Comme des Garçones and more with her insurmountable talents yet has no formal training to speak of. She is the global creative director for Procter and Gamble, (Max Factor, COVERGIRL) and the main makeup artist for Mr. Steven Meisel… yet with all this she is one of the sweetest, warmest people I’ve had the split second of meeting.

Pat has created a new line of makeup carryalls for both every day and travel usage. The Page and the Pat are bright, bold, and super chic for any beauty collector. Retailing at only $62 for the travel case, and $28 for the Pat they are a steal for the quality and vibrancy they would bring to your makeup stash.

The bags were inspired by Steven Meisel’s COVERGIRL ad for LashBlast mascara with the gorgeous Drew Barrymore. Pat took the the time to share with me the fact that she wanted to create a look that was “fun, shiny, and definitely inspired by the 80s.” She loves bright colors and this fun combination of sleek and neon. Lucky for me, I was sporting a black and yellow skirt so I fit in quite nicely with the look she was going for! Pat also shared that every make up bag should have a great mascara (LashBlast, of course, is her favorite) as well as 2 lipsticks: one for day, one for night. If in a bind she said using lipstick as a cheek color is an easy way to spruce up your makeup easily!

Pat was such a doll and I think I’ll absolutely be snagging one of the “Pat’s” as a quick carryall for my daytime beauty stash. What do you think of the chic neon combination?
