The Dainty Detail.

23 Apr

As any and all of my sorority sisters can tell you, I have a very large affection for bows of all kind. Bows of all sizes were seen at Givenchy, Chanel, Marchesa and more… and now, thanks to Blair Waldorf, they’re going mainstream. I love that no matter the outfit, a bow earring or headband or even tiny bow detailing on a shoe can ultra-feminize any outfit. I can throw on a white tank, boyfriend jeans, wedges and with the addition of a bow detailed necklace, the tomboyish outfit gets a feminine twist. We all remember the days of messy tangled hair and bows pinning back our unruly bangs when we were little, but now everyone from F21 to Lanvin are getting in on the trend and transitioning the dainty detail from kindergarten cute to need-it chic.

From Left to Right, Row by Row:

Headband, Barneys, $50. Satin Bow Sandals, Valentino, $750. Bow Patent Leather Flats, Lanvin, $555. Bow Bra, TopShop, $32.

Open Back Dress, ASOS, #54. Bow Earrings, Tiffany, $125. Gold Ring, Kate Spade, $75. Anabella Bangles, Marc by Marc Jacobs, $88 (each). Drop Necklace, Betsey Johnson, $51.

Peep Toe Platforms, Target, $37. Hair Clips, TopShop, $12. Purse, AE for Payless, $20. Quilted Flats, F21, $20.

Bows have infiltrated my wardrobe from cute hair clips to embellishments on cozy cardis, to my sequin bow SM pumps. I love the way they add feminine detailing to any outfit and with Spring finally here, there is no better time to cute-up your closet. My favorite way to wear bows right now (in addition to the above) are on the straps of spring wedges, or printed tiny on minis or cute tanks.

Will you be wearing bows this Spring?
