Vogue has released their votes for the top dressed women of the year and I am pleasantly surprised by the number one choice…
MS. ALEXA CHUNG!
While the quirky beauty might be on the sad side due to her talk show being cancelled, she will perk right up when hearing about her new award! I really never watched the show, but I did love seeing her outfits from both her TV appearances and her every day market attire. She has this tomboy-ish yet feminine style to her that’s unique and pretty. Many times those two words: unique and pretty aren’t interchangeable (a la Bjork’s lovely swan outfit) but Alexa pulls it off, and she pulls it off well.
Alexa most recently had a Mulberry bag named after her.
The rest of the list is a lot of usuals which is admirable in my opinion, that they can continue to stay at Vogue’s top, but there are also some fresh faces that are really becoming fashion icons on the red carpet and beyond.
From 2-20: Audrey Tautou, SJP, Cheryl Cole, Dannii Minogue, Emma Watson (!!!), Sienna Miller, Diane Kruger, Freida Pinto, Kate Moss, Lady GaGa, Lily Donaldson, Leighton Meester, MObama, Angelina Jolie, Georgia May Jagger, Anna Friel, Olivia Palermo, Carla Bruni-Sarkozy, and Beth Ditto.
Loving most of this list: Emma Watson, Leighton and of course GaGa are some real American stand-outs for me this year in the young age range that really came into their own this year fashion-wise. Cheryl Cole and Dannii are always big English heavy hitters. And Georgia May Jagger is so gorgeous with those big lips she can wear most anything and I’ll still love it.
What do you think? Do you agree with their list? Who would you add?
